Oh the times we live in. Where do I start?

I’m home! Yes, back to Cape Breton where I grew up. For some summer vacation relaxing with family and friends Except before that comes the 14 days of self-isolation. Yes, it’s 2020. The year of the COVID-19 pandemic. The year the world shut-down due to a novel Corona virus. The year everyone felt more isolated than ever.

So what would you do? Yes, look for a new hobby. And in my case, I decided to blog. It will talk about isolation but much more than that hopefully. It’s a new site and I will need some help putting it together properly.

The title Rock in a Stream comes from a famous song about Cape Breton called The Island. Cape Breton Island is a rock in the middle of a stream. We feel more isolated now than ever though the Atlantic provinces are starting to open up again. For now, it looks hopeful.

One more thing. I’m a curling fan who is looking forward to next year when the 2021 World Curling championship comes to my home city in Ottawa. The game is all about throwing rocks along the ice. I’m sure this blog will have time to talk about curling and many other things.
