I just heard tonight that there was “breaking” news. Asymptomatic carriers of COVID-19 cannot spread the disease. No need to wear masks anymore. Wow! Someone else even confirmed it. How can we go so long not realizing this? So, off I go to the internet to check for myself. And …
nothing.
There was no mention of it. How can this be? Surely, such a big discovery would be all over the news. Is this just the main-stream media conspiracy to keep us afraid? I doubt it. The media has a responsibility to report the truth along with the facts. Why can’t we be allowed to know?
The real question is what should you and I do? Is wearing a mask all that bad? For myself, I’m going to stick with what my doctor and health officials say — Wear a mask. If by chance the masks were not necessary, that’s quite alright. No harm done.
One more week to go for self isolation. Afterwards, I will continue wearing a mask because it is the responsible thing to do. Maybe not all the time but certainly in public, and most certainly indoors (even when nobody else is around — yet).
This is really a group activity. Everyone needs to do it. One or two people here and there won’t change much. But everyone working together on this can have a real impact. If somebody asks you to wear a mask (Canadians are so polite you know) I would most certainly love the suggestion and join in. No fuss. We should not have to ask though.
One more thing before signing off. If anyone can provide a link that says people without symptoms do not need to wear a mask, please share. I’ll read it and maybe even consider posting it. Just … maybe.
PS: I really hope to put up some interesting stuff soon. I just felt I had to speak up.
